This is what happens in the video

Flexible Forecast in Business Central lets you enrich forecast entries with extra fields so you can forecast separately per customer, country, salesperson, variant code, and dimension codes. You enter the normal forecast quantity, then add the fields that matter for your business.

You can export forecasts to Excel and filter on any of these criteria. This means you can split the forecast into separate lines per salesperson, send each salesperson their own sheet, and have them update the sales orders directly.

You can combine filters. For example, you can filter on one salesperson and forecast per customer, which gives you an Excel sheet for that salesperson with a line for each customer. You then consolidate the updated forecasts directly in Business Central.

Enrich forecast entries with extra fields in Flexible Forecast

In Flexible Forecast you can of course enter the normal forecast quantity. But you can also enrich the data with additional fields: salesperson, customer, country, variant code, and two dimension codes.

This makes it possible to forecast separately on a much more detailed level. You can forecast per large customer, per country, per salesperson, and so on, instead of working with one aggregated number.

Export forecasts to Excel and filter per salesperson or customer

When you export forecasts to Excel, you can filter on all of those criteria. That means you can split the lines, for instance per salesperson. When you export the forecast, each salesperson gets a separate line.

You can also filter on a specific salesperson if you only want the forecast for that one person. Then you send the sheet to that salesperson and let them update their sales orders.

Combine multiple filters for detailed forecasting

You can apply multiple filters at once. For example, you can choose one salesperson and forecast per customer. When you add the salesperson filter, Business Central creates an Excel sheet that covers only that salesperson, but includes all of their customers.

This way, a single salesperson can maintain a forecast broken down per customer. Once the forecast is updated, you consolidate it directly in Business Central.

Apply dimensions to forecast entries

With all of this enriched data, you can apply quite a few dimensions to your forecast entries. That gives you the flexibility to forecast at the level of detail that fits how your business actually works.
